crafttastic: screw boring old window screens! why not make screens out of old lace curtains?! old lace curtains are easy to come by (raid your mother’s, grandmother’s, antique shop, etc stash) and come in a variety of classy looking designs/textures. lace works great, because it has holes to let air in, but the holes are small enough that bugs stay out! btw, this project works best with wooden window frames! take out the window frame & remove the current (boring) screen. now, stretch the lace tight over the frame & use a staple gun to attach it! trim away the excess lace! done!
