So I stumbled onto purl bee’s tutorial for a pompom cowl, and immediately set out to find some pompom trim to do this with because let’s face it, pompoms are the shit. After enquiring from shop to shop in the craft district (I don’t know if I can fully say that for Toronto, but it’s the closest thing I can think of) and dragging my bum back home, I managed to scrounge up 2 yards of this trim. 2 measly yards.
If any toronto craft shop owners read this (…is there a way to express negative probabilities?) please please please, I’m asking you in my nicest voice possible, order some pompom trim! It’s not even like you’re taking on a massive amount of risk - I’m a guaranteed customer!

DIY Coasters! These are super easy to make and are great gifts. If you don’t have old tiles laying around, never fear; I got each of these for twelve cents.
Add some felt padding to the bottom (I recommend a hot-glue gun, but I used super-glue because I don’t have one. It tends to bleed through the felt, but once it dries it’s fine) and do two layers of Mod-Podge to the top when adding your top graphic. I repurposed an outdated encyclopedia.

Printer’s Drawer Turned Jewelry Display
Being a fan of letterpress and a printer myself, I thought this would be the perfect way to display and organize my jewelry. It took forever to screw in all those little eyelet hooks, but it was well worth it. I wanted to remove some of the horizontal slats in the necklace section so they would fit in the compartments instead of hanging over them, but my drawer was really well built and hard to deconstruct. I might take another stab at it eventually. I clearly need more jewelry; this thing is only half full!
